EU Twinning Project launches e-Georgia knowledge quiz


25 April 2017, TBILISI - EU Twinning Project “Support to Strengthening of e-Governance in Georgia II” together with Georgian Data Exchange Agency (DEA) launched e-Georgia knowledge quiz on Facebook yesterday.

Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser and the DEA Chairman Irakli Gvenetadze officially opened the quiz. In the words of Estonian Minister the EU Twinning Project, that is led by Estonia is a good example of the cooperation between Estonia, the European Union and Georgia. “Estonian experts together with colleagues from other EU Member States have advised Georgia on the legal framework of e-governance, e-strategies and e-services during the past year and a half,“ Mikser said. The DEA Chairman Irakli Gvenetadze encouraged all Georgians, especially the youth, to take the quiz and learn more about digital developments in Georgia. “The biggest challenge for us to day is to get people using e-services and I hope that this quiz will increase awareness about the e-Georgia,” Mr  Gvenetadze noted.

The quiz has 10 general knowledge questions about e-Georgia, EU support to Georgia and e-Estonia. The quiz is open only for Georgian citizens residing in Georgia. The grand prize is a new iPhone, second prize a smart phone and the third prize HD headphones. All prizes will be drawn from those entries in which all questions have been answered correctly. Lucky winners will be drawn at the end of May 2017.

EU Twinning Project “Support to Strengthening of e-Governance in Georgia II” was launched in October 2015 with the aim to strengthen the e-governance in Georgia. The duration of the Project is 21 months and is funded by the European Union in the amount of 1.3 million Euro.

The Project is implemented by Estonian e-Governance Academy in cooperation of Estonian State Chancellery and Italian ICT Consortium CSI-Piemonte (Torino, Italy). The main Georgian partner is LEPL Data Exchange Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
