Estonia supports the competitiveness of Georgian vocational education sector“


Cooperation project „Transfer of Estonian Best Practices to Support the Competitiveness of Georgian Vocational Education Sector“

Heads and teachers of 8 Estonian vocational education institutions met with their Georgian counterparts in Tbilisi 18.-20.02.2014. Seminars were held at the Tbilisi IT College premises.

Current event is part of a larger project, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of Georgian vocational education colleges in developing curriculum to meet the needs of employers and students. The project focuses on cooperation between 8 Georgian pilot colleges and 8 Estonian counterparts, the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science and Educational Quality Center. The duration of the project is from January 2014 to October 2015 and is supported by Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


The outcomes of the project are:

  • development of 5-8 new modular curricula to meet the needs of the labor market and students;
  • introduction of general competencies and integration of students with special needs;
  • upgrading teachers pedagogical and andragogical competencies;
  • analyses and further development of leadership competencies to enhance the quality related work in the colleges;
  • enhance the effectiveness of cooperation with the employers, inter alia organization of on-the-job training;
  • improve the attractiveness and international cooperation in VET.
